Venezuela's Maduro Begins Second Term Amidst International Opposition
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro started a second term on Thursday.
Critics in the United States and Latin America have called Maduro an illegitimate president, as Venezuela is in the midst of a humanitarian crisis.
The country’s pro-government Supreme Court swore him in on Thursday as supporters appeared to wave miniature Venezuelan flags.
Venezuela has been facing hyperinflation, severe food and medicine shortages, and the fleeing of millions of citizens.
