Welcome back to the koam morning news on fox 14.
So jesse, do you have any plans for this weekend to celebrate saint patricks day.
Jesse: you know, i wasn't really sure what the best way to celebrate was.
At least until i stopped by keltoi winery in oronogo, missouri to discuss to holiday and get a better understanding of irish culture and tradition.
Let's take a look.
It feels appropriate that we're drinking and talking about st.
Patrick's day, except this isn't a guiness - it's yours.
Yes well actually irish guys either make it, sell it, or transport it.
I'm one of those that really like wine and throughout my life i've been making it.
Sneaking wine as an alter boy.
Is that a right of passage as an altar boy?
Yes i believe so.
My uncle was transporting to china back in the day, so i'd say it's in our blood.
I like being out here with the grapes and the winery.
There's more to irish culture, right?
I mean this is the life, but when it comes to st.
Patrick's day, there's gotta be more context.
There is and we're always potrayed as having a great time on st.
Patrick's day, but a lot of it is about family.
As a young man we would go to parades, kid friendly events, and that's what i wanted our event to be also.
We're gonna have live entertainment and a great time for everyone.
A lot of people have irish blood in them from the years when they came over here and became part of america.
Do a dna test and see where your family comes from.
If people want to go to the event on saturday, what do they have to do?
Simply show up?
Yes just come out here.
Besides saint patrick's day, my wife's retiring this week.
She from alaska, and we're bringing down an icon, hobo jim, and he will play some irish music.
I've got another outfit that will play some irish music as well.
Well thank you for talking to me about this.
To your wife, leanne.
Michael: michael: thanks jesse.
Jesse: and later...rebecca brubaker stops by to
