Oprah's New Lights On Project

CNN reports that Oprah Winfrey has donated $500,000 to an after-school program in Newark, New Jersey.

Winfrey took to Facebook Friday night explaining that the money will be going to the school's Lights On program, which provides students with a safe space every Friday night.

Business Insider reports that at Lights On, students who attend can participate in a variety of activities including basketball, yoga, dancing, crafting, and board games, among other things.
