In his latest swipe at Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday accused it of having been secretly enriching uranium in violation of the 2015 nuclear deal "for a long time." Trump offered no evidence, but he warned in a Twitter post that "substantial" new sanctions would be coming soon, on top of an earlier wave that has slashed Iran's oil revenues.
Tensions have been rising since Trump pulled the U.S. out of the multi-nation nuclear deal last year.
Tehran on Sunday announced it had enriched uranium to 4.5 percent... above the limit set by the 2015 deal.
Iran insists the move is within the framework of the accord.
