Anti-Government Protesters Disrupt Train Service in Hong Kong

Anti-government protesters disrupted train services at several subway stations during rush hour in Hong Kong on July 30, local media reported.

Protesters stood between doors and prevented trains from leaving, causing major delays, suspension of services, and congestion at Admirality, Tiu Keng Leng and North Point MTR stations, the South China Morning Post reported.

Police were called to remove some protesters, according to an update from MTR.

Long lines formed outside stations as shuttle busses were organized to transport passengers.

This footage shows passengers, crowded onto a platform at Tiu Keng Leng station, shouting for officials to turn the air conditioning on, as well as people lined up for a shuttle service.

Some train lines returned to normal operations at about 11.30 am, the South China Morning Post reported.
