Box Office Mojo reports that ‘The Lion King’ remake has made $968.5 million worldwide, roughly $60 million more than the 1994 release.
The numbers are slightly lower at the domestic box office, with the original garnering $422 million against the reboot’s current $351 million.
Though the film is succeeding financially, the 2019 version has received mixed reviews.
The new iteration holds a score 55 on Metacritic while its source material holds an 88.
