Dowe: when the saint louis blues won the stanley cup this year -- it wasn't just a victory for the city -- but for the state.
And the blues -- like other stanley cup winners of the past -- have been giving their fans a second chance to celebrate via a statewide tour with the cup.
That tour today made a stop in joplin.
The cup was greeted at memorial hall by a massive line of joplin-area blues supporters wanting to get close to history.
"it's a historic moment you know, fifty-two years you know to get it to missouri, it's never been to missouri, in joplin.
So who knows when we'll get it again."
Dowe: as he was alluding to -- this is the blues first ever stanley cup win.
But not their first finals appearance.
The blues reached the finals in the first of it's three years in the n-h-l but had never won the cup.
