Troops have been deployed onto the streets of the capital.

The government says at least 180 people were detained after fridays incidents that saw transit stations attacked and a building set on fire.

According to the government, 57 police officers were injured in the unrest.

Protesters are upset about a hike in fares for public transit.

The government says the hikes are required to keep up with costs.

Today the country's senate will hold a special session to address
