Trump Signs Human Rights And Democracy Act In Hong Kong

President Donald Trump signed a bill supporting human rights in Hong Kong.

According to Business Insider, the decision angered President Xi Jinping and stalled trade deal efforts.

A source close to Trump’s negotiating team said China may not sign a “phase-one” deal until the end of the year.

Additionally, they said Trump would likely delay any possible tariffs as a goodwill gesture.

The Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act considers sanctions against people involved in human right abuses.
