Homeless for the Holidays

And end in rock rapids./// today marks the starts of december á a month of celebration.

It's a time to gather together and come home for the holidays.

But for those who aren't as fortunate á this time of year can be hard.

It's a reminder of what they don't have... a reminder that it's tough to be "homeless for the holidays."xxx sot: it's hard being out in the streets... no matter the season... people (always need a place to call home.

Sot: my current situation is i'm living up in the sky ways so... it's not anything new á these people live right here in the community.

Homelessness has really been a buzz topic here in rochester for gosh, probably the last couple of years.

And i don't think people even really have a sense of how impactful it really is, how much it's really impacting our community right now.

It's something that needs to be addressed... calyn: is homelessness a problem here in this community?

Man: yes, most definitely is... i'll be talking to the (real people who are impacted á in order to help find a solution for the unsheltered in rochester.

We need to find that housing option for them.

So they can gain the support they need if they have a chemical dependency or a mental illness.
