Despite a significant uptick in flu cases, it seems the US is not on the verge of a pandemic after all.
According to the latest FluView report from the CDC, flu related healthcare visits are down this week.
In all, 6 % of deaths across the country during the most recent surveillance period were attributable to influenza.
The CDC's threshold for declaring a pandemic is 6.9%.
Still, the CDC estimates that at least 13 million Americans have been sickened by the virus so far this flu season.
