Tuesday may have brought a little more clarity to the democratic race.

With biden and sanders separating themselves from what was a field of more than two dozen at one time, it now appears to be a two man race -- meaning missouri voters going to the polls next week will have a little easier decision..

<<missouri voters were on the sidelines for super tuesday, but they were paying close attention.they'll vote in the state primary next tuesday -- and much of their work may have already been done for them."either bernie sanders or joe biden, that's basically where we are."from 25 original candidates for the democratic presidential nomination, there now appears to be only two choices.sanders and biden taking a lion's share of the delegates in the 15 contests held on super tuesday.

Your choices are winnowed down where as early primary and caucus states, everybody and anybody in, which borders on madness."missouri western political science professor melinda kovacs says the fight for the heart and soul of the democratic party in missouri will be interesting to watch -- will they go for the more progressive sanders or play it safe with the more moderate biden, "in terms of 'who are democrats in missouri?

Could they be progressive, committed, left-wing of the democratic party to make sanders win missouri, is that possible?'

That's possible."

The one exception that kovacs stresses, though, is how involved republicans in the state might want to get involved in the democratic primary because missouri has an open primary."you can be a lifelong republican and show up next tuesday and say 'i would like to have a democratic ballot please.'

And strategically vote for the democrat that president trump will have the easiest time winning over."regardless of how the vote totals end up, kovacs says that this 2020 election has already been fascinating to watch."it is an amazing time to be a political scientist and it is a nerve- wracking time to be a political scientist.

We all fall victim to trying to predict what is going to happen and then have to eat our words.

I don't know what's going to happen.">> a planned candidate forum in kansas city sunday afternoon has been cancelled.

Organizers say the results of super tuesday which narrowed the field took away the need for the event.
