South Spencer Basketball Ready To Run To Regionals

Basketball team has been on fire as of late.

The rebels have won 9 in a row..

Including an overtime thriller in last saturday's sectional final.

However..

There is still plenty of work to be done.

When the buzzer sounded in huntingburg on saturday, south spencer had won its first sectional crown since 2016.

Our kids made winning plays down the stretch in those games to help us come out on top.

The community, the school, everyone is excited about the team, it's been a really fun season, and i was just so overjoyed really to see the kids accomplish one of their big goals.

It feels great.

It shows all the hard work that we put in and with coach britton coming in here and giving us a new offense and a new look and getting to know him and him getting to know us it's, really good getting a sectional win in our first year with him.

It feels really great, we put in a bunch of work this summer, coach britton came in here in his first year, our whole coaching staff really helped us get going and the players put in the time and the effort to get it done.

The rebels are also making history in the win column, the sectional win gave them 22 wins total wins on the season, their most since the 9?95 campaign.

The kids really deserve all the credit.

They've worked hard and had a great attitude from day one and to see them grow over the course of the year and to learn how to play together, learn how to win, how to adjust to things in the game, it's been really enjoyable as a coach to get to watch that and we've had great leadership from our upperclassmen and they've been consistent and shown great toughness.

It feels good because then we have something to show for all the hard work that's been put in and with my brothers out here and every day goes to show for it.

As they continue their historic run, south spencer will open regionals with providence as they aim for their first regional title since 1994.

We've got to work hard on defense, rebound the ball, and play together as a team.

Listening to coach and what he has to say, he puts us in good positions to win, he knows what he's doing so, if we just buy into what he has for us and work together, then we can get anything done.
