2 dead, 1 in custody in Winston shooting

34-year-old Winston resident Savino DeSantiago called dispatch wishing to turn himself in, officials said.

Douglas county sheriff office is investigating a double homicide after a man shot and killed 2 people near main street in winston.

This all started when police and douglas county sheriffs resonded to ford street in winston at 2 this morning to find 2 men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emma chynna me its still a very active scene as officers from winston police and troopers from douglas county sheriff office and o-s-p work to investigate exactly what happened here early this morning.

I was here as forensics teams and major crime investigative units rolled up this afternoon.

Neighbors wanted to talk about the incident, but opted to not go on camera tell me they hear over a dozen of gun shots jusy before 2am this morning.

Officials report that desantiago left the scene on foot before turning himself into police shortly after.
