Medical professionals selective with testing

People with symptoms have been reaching out to Action News Now saying they've been denied testing.

Christina vitale shows us*wh* medical professionals are being so selective.

Woman: i could not be tested unless i could prove that i had come into contact with somebody that was a confirmed case i told her that was crazy i skyped with thi* 60 year old woman from oroville who asked not to identified.

She told me she's been feeling sick for a few weeks.

Woman: it hurts to breathe now she says her symptoms are on and off fever, shortness of breath, coughing woman: i feel a little bit dizzy right now so you're going to have to wait to for me to catch up for a second she says she called her health care provider in oroville three times& they denied her.

So she called enloe woman: and they told me i had to contact my primary care physician and there was nothing they could do enloe told me it has specimen collection kitsã but is reserving them for the sickest opeople& which includes&(??

Waiting for the criteria here from enloe) i also reached out to the woman's health care provider for their testing criteria provider: traveled within the last fourteen days with a fever or the patient has came into contact with someone whos been tested positive and tell the patient she should contact emergency care if they have emergent problems lisa almageur: we cant speak to specific reasons why someone who is symptomatic who seeks care doesn't end up being tested the health care providers have the criteria they have the expertise to asses someone and decide if testing is needed i will tell you that testing will be prioritized for the at risk population and people who have known exposure.

Me: so with all your symptoms i can tell you're getting emotional now are worried about your personal health at this point?

Woman: yeah and everybody else ive been in contact with.

Thanks to a grant the clinic will open an come into contact with somebody that was a confirmed case i told her that was crazy i skyped with thi* 60 year old woman from oroville who asked not to identified.
