Through all the hardships people are feeling with the coronavirus..

"indiana state police" say there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

News 10's jordan kudisch joins us live from our newsroom.

She shares... what police say... is the more positive effect of "covid-19."

Well alia..

As many of us are being told to social distance and stay home..

It's doing good for our community in more way than one.

I spoke with indiana state police..

And they say crime rates are on the decline.

Sgt.

Matt ames and i did a "facetime interview" and he tol me that they're seeing less arrests... because of the virus.

He says people seem to be more concerned over their well-being..

Rather than committing crimes.

I-s-p is still responding to calls despite the decrease.

And will continue to enforce traffic and criminal laws.

But..

Again... this "does" take pressure off law enforcement during a tough time.

"they're taking care of themselves and not going out and committing crimes which is a good thing for everyone in the community.

What people need to realize we're in this all together and everyone needs to work together so that we can get through this and at the end and get back out and enjoy eachothers company."

Other issues the state police want to address during this virus... coming up in the next 30 minutes.
