YouTube Reportedly Implementing 'Shorts' to Compete With TikTok The option lets users upload short videos exclusively to the platform's mobile app.
According to Digital Media company The Information, "Shorts" will be available on Android and iOS phones.
Licensed tunes through YouTube Music can also be used for content produced.
The music option is similar to TikTok's, which gives users a library of music to choose from.
With TikTok's popularity exploding in recent years, it appears YouTube is looking to capitalize.
YouTube also has a capability similar to the "Stories" feature on Instagram.
A report from The Next Web adds that "Shorts" will be launched sometime later in 2020.
