Family business creates solution for nurses complaining of ear pain from masks

Day are causing rashes, pain and even deep tissue injures.

A family business has responded to this and is making hooks to alleviate any pain.

It attaches to the elastic causing it to stay off the ears and allows a tighter fit.

I talked with the owner of hometown shirt and graphix in delphi about this idea.

She tells me it has taken off, but her business can't afford to keep giving them away for free.

Jb: that anything has transformed into a solid solution.

Sot:they hurt your ears.ya they are really sore.

Jb: alleviate sore ears with a hook.

It attaches to the elastic causing it to stay off the ears and allows a tighter fit.

Sot: just taking the pulling off our ears helps a ton it also helps pull ur maks back ice and tight.

A nurse at iu health arnett says it's ideas like mendel's that she is thankful for.

Sot: when we have to wear these we appreciate anything .

Everyone likes something different because everyone's head is a different size.

Medel has donated more than 20,000 of the hooks for free to 36 states.

To business, to hospitals to people's front doors.

Sot: we are asking for donations because that is what is going to keep us going.

Mendel says she would love to be able to give away the hooks for as long as possble.

Sot: they absolutely love them.

She says she gets notes from people showing their gratitude.

Sot: tried them on before i left and they made the mask so much more comfortable and they made the mask more snug on your face thank you so so so much.
