Plenty of organizations are providing food and meals, but the boys and girls club of fort wayne is doing something a little different.

Fox 55'sjentill neal tells us about the new program consisting of what they call healthy care packages.

Jentill?that's right hunter, it's called the healthy care package and in it there's deorderant, soap, lotion, and other items to help through each day.

Because a lot of people are still in need of these items. there's many people that still are not getting what they need so fort wayne boys and girls club is implementing a healthy habits care packets program.> 18:58:33-18:58:46"our community is such an awesome community.

There was a lot of people who stepped up in reference to food and making sure that there's some food outlets for families and children, but we thought there were some gaps there."in response to the covid-19 pandemic ..

They're teaming up with fort wayne united, southeast fort wayne community response, and save a lot stores to provide families with things like soap, lotion, diapers, and detergent.> 18:59:23-18:59:33"we galvanized some dollars for some of these items to give away to needy families and children.

It's truly a community impact project."

There will also be educational information about covid-19 in the packages so families will know how to stay safe during this time.

Families can pick up the packages starting thursday.18:59:47-18:59:54 "we've got about 1,000 packages that we want to give out.

First come first serve."
