UFCW Local 700 Releases Statement on Tyson Facility Closure
The UFCW Local 700 released a statement Tuesday afternoon in regards to the closure of the Tyson Foods facility in Logansport.

Announced this evening it is shutting down voluntarily and indefinitely.
The meat processing plant said it is doing this so its 2,200 employees can get tested for covid-19.
Meanwhile there have been no confirmed cases of the illness from the facility.
News 18 has reached out to a tyson spokesperson, about this but they did not respond.
As we previously reported the plant was closed monday for deep cleaning and sanitation.
Employees will continue to be paid during the closure.
Steve stouffer, group president of tyson released this statement today saying in part quote ... "our company is deeply embedded in our plant communities, including logansport.
We're working with the county to make sure our people and the community are safe.
It goes on to say quote..."the combination of worker absenteeism, covid-19 cases and community concerns has resulted in a collective decision to close" tyson has also closed a plant in iowa indefinitely for an outbreak of covid-19 cases.
