Unemployment phone lines are still busy as the state is still working to hire more staff.

Many people have been unsuccessful with filing their unemployment.

We have received many calls and emails from viewers wtva's chelsea brown joins us with what governor tate reeves had to say in today's coronavirus update despite some employees being off work now for weeks, some have still not been able to get in contact with the state's unemployment office.

Governor tate reeves says that he feels for those individuals that have not been able to get through to the unemployment offices.

The federal cares act expanded the number of people that are eligible for unemployment.

Typically an employee has to be off work for a week before they are unable to file for unemployment, this week of wait time has been for the employee has been voided.

Governor reeves says that the state has hired more staff for the unemployment call centers.
