judge orders change

C1 3 have been postponed....that after dozens of parents sued to stop the school district's plan...because it didn't allow parents to be at the ceremony.

A judge today ordered the district to revise its plan to include the graduate and two biological parents or parent figure.

"graduation is its accomplishment it's, it's the visualization of your accomplishments."

The same goes for rebecca day.

Her son dylan is graduating from south laurel high school.

"yeah i'd love to be able to see him to walk across the stage."

But schools across the country are doing some last minute planning...deciding how to celebrate graduation...safely.

Thursday, laurel county public schools told students they'll walk in groups of 10...all of it filmed...for parents to see...later.

No parents allowed in..

About three dozen families filed a lawsuit monday against the board of education and the superintendent...ar guing the plan doesn't adhere to the c-d-c's guidelines and parents should be included as they have been in surrounding schools districts.

Tuesday night...it was already being heard in court...because the graduation recordings were supposed to start as soon as wednesday.

But then a call came for students.

" this is for south laurel seniors, the graduation filming for thursday has been postponed."

Dylan...whose family isn't part of the suit... says he likes the original plan...and is grateful for any graduation.

"i know it was a big relief of anxiety for me because i had worried.

You know how is this gonna go.

Are we gonna have a graduation.

- i feel like it's more special and unique."

His mom is also graduating this spring with her doctorate in nursing... "i have to do what i have to do for not only my protection, but the protection of everyone else around me."

The district says it will strictly enforce social distancing, require face masks and set up sanitizer stations.

"we've got some sort of plan.

As long as i stick to it i feel completely comfortable with that."

Mom says it's not about her anyway...if dylan is happy, then so is she.
