Amazon coming to Clay

A new Amazon facility will be built in Clay, N.Y., according to Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon.

Open and shippng out orders of books and small electronics by the christmas shopping season next year.

The project will bring in more than a thousand jobs to our region.

The massive 3-point-7 million square foot facility is going on the grounds of the former liverpool public golf and country club off morgan road.

The project will be a first-of-its kind in upstate new york... where employees will work alongside robotics to pick, pack and send packages.

Onondaga county executive ryan mcmahon made the announcement at his press conference... saying this is quite the silver lining during this pandemic.

Mcmahon: "amazon is going to be not a good neighbor a great neighbor.

New york state well known for their regulations so i'm sure things will work out.

And we will make sure everyone lives up to their end of the bargain."

Construction for the project is underway right now... and is expected to be completed in september 2021.
