Fugitive captured after 'shooting factory colleague and brother'

This is the dramatic moment a fugitive was arrested after allegedly shooting his colleague then opening fire on his brother.

Thirawat Thamkhantee, 27, sparked a police hunt after a worker was shot at a factory in Samut Prakan, central Thailand on Tuesday afternoon (May 26).

He was reportedly hiding out with family in Rayong, 100 miles away, drinking with friends when his brother urged him to turn himself in.

However, Thirawat then allegedly became angry and shot his brother in the waist.

Paramedics rushed his injured brother to hospital where his condition is stable.

Police arrived and caught the alleged gun man last night (May 27) following a stand-off and struggle.

The fugitive is seen in the video standing on top of a car hurling a metal barrier at officers who are trying to subdue him.

Several gun shots were also fired but nobody was hut.

Police Colonel Chaipong Sangpongchai said Thirawat was arrested and remanded in custody.

He allegedly confessed to shooting his colleague and brother.

The investigating officer said: "The suspect was arrested for attempted murder, illegally possessing a firearm and violating curfew.

"We will cooperate with the Samut Prakan police to send him there for the other arrest warrant from the first shooting.''
