Good afternoon to you.

I'm susan dinkel.

It's tuesday, june 2nd.

"voting" has been the name of the game in indiana today!

And all day long ..

We've been following "the election process" for you.

"the vigo county clerk's office"..

Is making sure..

That things are running "as safely" and "smoothly" as possible.

News 10's..

"richard solomon"..

Joins us now "live" "from the vigo county annex".

He explains..

What's going on "right now"!

"richard"... ////// /////// there's about an hour left until the polls close here at the vigo county annex.

Im told all day the crowd has been pretty steady here.

You can see by just taking a look behind me just how different voting looks this year compared to others.

This is what it looks like inside a voting center.

There are several locations for in person voting.

At every location there's a crew member from servpro cleaning each machine right after it's used.

Everyone is asked to wear a face covering.

Polls workers are wearing gloves.

When you do vote you use a stylus.... they are also cleaned after you use it.

Elections leaders say it's not your typical voting process... but one woman i spoke with says she's not going to let the virus stop her from exercising her american right.

//////// "we got a job to do we need to have our voices heard you know if we're staying home we're not getting anything done i felt safe and i could tell i tell other people were probably iffy and questionable but it's fine" ///////// i did speak with vigo county clerk brad newman.

He says absentee ballots make up the majority of this years voters.

Again you have about an hour left to vote at the polls.

I'll meet you back out here at 6 with more.

Reporting live in vigo county richard solomon news 10 back to you.
