Because of quote overwhelming capacity.

Right now -- downtown businesses are preparing for another rally.

Fortunately monday night's protests did not result in any looting.

However -- incidents did escalate at bridge street town center following the protest -- resulting in an arrest.

With another rally on the horizon - waay31's megan reyna learned why some businesses will be forced to shut down.

Right now -- off jefferson street and clinton avenue the landlord for this building right here is currently boarding up windows... and they'll be here for several hours doing so.

This means tomorrow these businesses will be closed.

One business owner in this building told me he is doing it out of extreme caution when he does -- these shops will close again.

This includes silhouette just around the corner -- where the owner tells me the landlord is just preparing for the worst.

Morel says:"it hasn't affected my business personally, from what i witnessed yesterday, it was very peaceful."

Frida morel's boutique opened about a year ago.

After coronavirus forced her to shut down silhouette for about two months, business is picking up again.

Morel says:"it's been wonderful, but this just doesn't help, but i'm not overly concerned about it because its temporary" monday -- morel was open and witnessed parts of the protest herself.

She says what she saw was peaceful.

But her landlord is concerned and wants to take precautionary steps -- which includes boarding up windows.

Morel told me she supports the protestors.

Morel says:"i think everybody's voice needs to be heard, the protest is for a good cause."

Even though she was open monday -- with boarded windows she will have to be closed tomorrow.

However ... she's not worried about the long-term effects.

Morel says:"i'm going to survive the pandemic, i'm going to survive the protest, hopefully tomorrow will be as peaceful as i believe it was yesterday and we will go from there" it's unclear how long these businesses will boarded up -- but owners told me they will remain closed until those boards are removed.
