Organizers of rally prepare for a big surprise

Organizers of a West Point rally are preparing for a peaceful march on Saturday.

With what you can expect.

The organizers of the peaceful march tomorrow in west point said the event is a call for social justice.

They expect a high turnout from the community especially for the big surprise at the end.

In recent weeks, cities in our viewing area held peaceful protests following the death of george floyd.

And now two organizers in west point are gearing up for their peaceful gathering on saturday.

((sot)) "we saw that our neighboring cities had had marches and had rallies and as we didn't want to jump on the bandwagon and just hurry and do it we did have a thought process to go into the planning, but we didn't want to wait too long as well."

Sherell drake- organizer although social justice and reform wont come overnight..

Sherell drake said they are continuing that push for change..

"we're looking for huge participation of both races.

It's not a black thing, it's not a white thing it's a social justice thing.

And we just want our community to know that we want change."

Organizers sherell drake and lisa klutts said everyone will gather at the police department at 5 pm.

Local pastors will lead the crowd in prayer and thats when the march begins to the mission where local and state officials will speak.

"even bringing the community closer together."

Lisa klutts- organizer the march will go through commerce street to brame avenue and will end on off of cromwell street.

"as well as a surprise, we'll have a surprise to end our program."
