Practice plans at Paradise High

The Paradise volleyball returned to campus on Tuesday, but it isn’t quite back to bumping, setting and spiking.

Paradise high is welcoming its athletes back on the court today.

Action news now sports director vanessa romo has details on their plans.

The volleyball team is the first to be back at paradise high since march and from the looks of it, the players were happy to be back.

This volleyball team isn't quite back to bumping, setting and spiking& its weird.

Its really weird to be back on the court and it's going to take some getting used to& because we aren't back to normal yet& but sanitizing, distancing and masking up& & but it feels really good to see everyone and kind of get a sense of normalcy after everything& paradise is in only in phase one of three phases& which means it can only workout and condition& but they'll take it... it feels really great& ive been playing this sport for like five years now and with the quarantine situation going on for a couple of months it's been really hard& paradise high's athletic director and volleyball coach anne stearns worked with the school district to make guidelines and plans to return& it was a lot& it was a struggle & those plans& then had to be approved by the butte county public health department& but at the same time just to be back on campus it almost feels like the fire where we're coming back and its so exciting& and they just want to be around each other.

Guidelines include groups of ten to be formed and separated, screenings, and no sharing of gear& and more its so important.

We talk about the fact that one kid can ruin it for everyone and so they have to understand all of these plans that we put into place and it's for their safety& all coaches were required to attend a training session prior to the first practice.

Students also had to have a parent release form signed before participating.

Football for paradise will start tomorrow evening.
