Paradise Unified School District looks to present its youth sport guidelines to the Butte County Health Department by this week for approval.

Sports in butte county is trying to make a comeback& action news nows sports director vanessa romo spoke with paradise high's athletic director about plans to get the bobcats back up the mountain to play.

Guidelines are being written as i speak, plans are being made and pitches are set to happen this week& if all checks out& paradise high may even start practices this friday the california interscholastic federation allowing each school district to make its own call on when to restart athletics.

Im really optimistic and hope we can get everybody on the field by friday now is that a realization that i should be talking to parents and athletes about& yes!

But we also have to understand that we might be told no& last week, the paradise unified school district board was waiting for the butte county public health department to set out guidelines for youth sports.

But butte health tells us the state issues those guidelines.

And everyone's still waiting for those guidelines.

We're all in it for the kids and i really wish it was black and white.

We all want answers and i feel like with covid, it just hasn't been answers.

Paradise is now making its own sports guidelines to present to the health department.

I made a guidelines one time and then i got an email that it's no longer the case or you have to up your strictness of wearing a mask& so right now.

We are just trying to make answers for everything.

But we don't even know what the question is& stearns says the district is also looking at yuba and sutter's public health department guidelines for youth sports, other universities, and the california disease control.

I want everyone in the paradise community to know that we are here for them and that our message from the board and our entire district is that we want the kids back here and we will do everything short from breaking the law to get them here.

Once the board agrees on its guidelines, it will present them to butte county public health later this week.

Other coaches told action news now they too will be presenting to the board and -- and hope to get back to practice -- next week.# a highway widening project goes off with a will be presenting to the board and -- and hope to get back to practice -- next week.# a
