New this evening -- a "student athlete" in florence tested positive for coronavirus.

The student who tested positive was asymptomatic and was given the test during a routine pre-surgical routine by a local doctor.

It's unclear if any other students came in contact with this particular student are quarantining.

Florence city schools did give waay31 these photos of student athlete workouts.

Every time a student comes in they are screened, their temperatures taken and they are asked these questions you see on this dry erase board.

School officials said they social distance during the workouts and wear masks even when athletes are spaced out.

Since the student tested positive the district is ramping up their cleaning and sanitizing efforts between workouts.

The district told me it's doing a lot of student workouts outside too so student athletes aren't always closed up in their weight rooms. the student who tested positive is quarantining.
