We've had two tragic drowning accidents just one week apart.

8-year-old athena welch died sunday.

She was in big raccoon creek, near the mansfield covered bridge.

One week before that, a two-year-old girl died in universal.

Police say her family found her in a back-yard pool... and weren't able to save her.

It's a good idea to have a fence around pools.

Make sure responsible adults are closely watching children.

Here's ways you can stay safe while you're having fun: "i would say..

Avoid alcohol, wear your life jackets.

If the water is fast moving and we've got a lot of rain recently, and the water levels are elevated, and that moving water it can be deceptive.

If it's moving, i would steer clear of it " you should also have the conversation about the dangers of the water before you head out.
