"* raquel?xxx the petition is calling on the school board and administrators here at the district to create an anti?

"* racist school environment.

Take a look at the petition.

It already has more than 12?

"* hundred signatures.

Last night ?

"*s st who started this petition met with three members of the rochester school board.

They tell me the meeting went well?*- and while there is a long way to go ?

"* it's one step closer to achieving their ultimate goals.xxx i hope that this will bring lasting change and that the changes and the measures that are taken will continue to be built upon instead of being like a one time thing.

In like every single class, in math, in history, in english, we can talk about how each and every one of us has made a contribution to developing that subject.

So for example, english, how have minority authors contributed to expanding english.

They tell me they sent the petition to all the school board members and the superintenden t ?

"* and last night they met with the three school board members that they had heard back from.

They're now hoping those school board members will bring it to the other members and district administrators ?

*- so that some concrete changes can start to be made.

I also reached out to the school board chair ?

"* who tells me te district is concerned with many of the same issues raised in the petition ?

"* and they're hoping this will be a continued dialogue with students.
