We want to turn our attention back to the mask ordinance.

You won't have to keep one on when you're eating or drinking inside a restaurant or bar.

But -- that doesn't mean establishments didn't have to make adjustments for madison county's new health order.

Waay31's megan reyna explains what you can expect... - and one bright idea to make thinkgs a little easier.

Megan?

Maybe the first thing you can expect to see are signs like this one here at melt -- stating you must have a mask on to go inside.

That mask needs to remain on as you order or interact with employees.

However -- the moment you receive food or drinks it can come off.

Nats:"we do require masks" hurt says:"we were educating everybody on this and we know this is going to take some time and this is going to take a lot of patience."

Patience -- that's the key when it comes to businesses adjusting during this pandemic.

Jennifer hurt, assistant general manager at melt, said she had to take a few moments while working her shift monday night to go over their new policy.

Hurt says:"we've got to like think, don't go to that table without anybody having a mask on, so it's something we all have to do."

But this business got creative... adding a light to each table so customers can turn it on when they need assistance.

Hurt says:"if the light is on, they'll put the mask on and go to that table and the guests will know that as well."

Nats at stovehouse -- people seemed to follow the new ordinance without any problems tonight.

But for months now -- there have been several social distancing protocols in place.

Jackson says:"actually at this moment there's no seating inside the restaurants or bar."

Inside that bar -- pourhouse -- the serving style sure is different -- but stovehouse marketing director steven jackson believes it's setting the right example for other bars.

Jackson says:"well pourhouse has been great about making an efficient ordering system, so it minimizes exposure and gets people out to the lawn."

Once people are socially distanced and have their food or drinks on the lawn, the masks come off.

Even with an ideal set-up... jackson still expects some people to avoid businesses all together.

Jackson says:"i think with the mask ordinance there are going to be people who just don't bother going out, which you know, we expect to see a little dip."

Nats over at green bus brewing -- you'll still be able to sit down at the bar.

But co-owner carey huff is taking these new rules seriously.

Huff says:"they've been changing by the week, by the month."

And huff and his business partner remain flexible and thankful they are still open.

Huff says:"it's not that difficult for us to adapt and to learn and to follow new rules."

Because for them -- there's something worse for their business than having to wear a mask huff says:"i'd rather have a masking ordinance than a prohibition on dining rooms."

Now here at melt -- they will provide masks for you if you do not have one.

If you are unable to wear one -- you can sit outside and still be served.
