Read under in our top story... former police chaplain donovan stewart has officially announced his retirement from the lexington police department.
The police department just announced monday the position of chaplain was being eliminated... and stewart was reassigned to patrol officer... he announced today at a news confrenence that he is retiring.
Protestors have been calling for stewart to be fired... because of an incident in this video from last year... stewart is accused of hitting a teen..who lives with autism at fayette mall last february.
A federal lawsuit was filed against stewart earlier this year..
### prior to stewarts resignation... about a dozen protesters gathered.
They say they don't believe stewart resigning is enough.
Sarah williams/organizer: they needed to complete that investigation before he is no longer employed by lpd.
