Douglas county is dealing with its first workplace outbreak... 6 confirmed cases at a small manufacturing company outside of glide.

< since the covid-19 pandemic began& the oregon health authority has reported 60 workplace outbreaks.

And this small manufacturing company outside of glide is the latest addition.

Phoner?there been a small outbreak at the romtec.

Wee been working with them since the very beginning?

Public health officer bob dannenoffer says it's considered an outbreak... if five or more people test positive in a workplace.

Romtec had six cases as of july 8th.

Ben cooper, the company president told me 4 employees tested positive& and the two others were associated with those cases.

00:35 evita: even though oha reports romtec as an active outbreak, the company president, who did not want to speak on camera, said theye at the tail end of the situation.

He said everyone associated with the cases is already back at work?

Cooper says most of their employees are now working from home -- and they're now more spread out at work.

And dannenhoffer says he has been working closely with romtec to isolate those cases.

It looks like the outbreak is pretty much over?

He's hoping this is a good reminder for all of us to protect ourselves...and others.?be very careful about travel, be very careful about gatherings, maintain social distancing?
