Lowndes County supervisors asking governor to add county to mandatory mask list

Lowndes county board of supervisors voted to ask governor tate reeves to add the county to the mandatory mask requirement this morning.

Supervisor leroy brooks said the county attorney will email the request to the governor's office today.

Brooks believes the vote is a move in the right direction.

"you know it's just us being proactive.

You have to take this very seriously and do all that we can to try and balance the health and general well fare of people versus the need for businesses to continue to form and keep the economy going."

Brooks said the board should get an answer within the next few days.
