The death of Supreme Court Justice and liberal icon Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday has gotten President Donald Trump's Rolodex spinning. According to CNN, Trump has updated a roster of more than 20 potential Supreme Court nominees in recent weeks. It will be Trump's third opportunity to appoint a justice to the bench, a move that is sure to thrill Republicans and infuriate Democrats. Trump added several new names to his list earlier this month, including Republican Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas.
Fred Allen McKinney died in 2015 and was buried in Bentonville, Arkansas. But last summer, his family started making some strange finds at his gravesite: various animal carcasses. The family initially believed the animals had died after nibbling on fake flowers left in McKinney's memory. However, Newser reports the family soon realized the animals' bodies were being left intentionally. In one case, eight live baby possums were left.
A 24-year-old cold case heated up in Arkansas last week. But Newser reports the case ended explosively. Newser reports Alaska State Police were confident they'd found their man when they arrived at the home of 66-year-old Steve Branch. Branch was suspected of raping and killing Jessica Baggen after her 17th birthday party in Sitka, Alaska, in 1996. Newser reports Branch refused to provide a DNA sample, so authorities left to get a warrant. Thirty minutes later, Branch fatally shot himself.
