Groundbreaking at new Fitness Mill

The Fitness Mill in Utica broke ground on its new location in New York Mills Wednesday morning.

Their current facility is in new york mills.

The plot of land on oriskany boulevard was once the site of an auto parts warehouse.

Now... it's been cleared to begin the construction of the new "live it!

Downtown complex".

It will include the new fitness mill center and some retail outlets.

The utica common council approved the business plans for the fitness mill last july.

Owner alex carbone says this will really brimng a lot of life to this part of oriskany boulevard right near downtown utica... "not only that, it attracted some great businesses that want to be a part of liveit downtown.

We've got barks on the boulevard, we've got blend, we've got king water chiropractic, brand it screen printing we've got key's busy bees which is a daycare, we've got gentleman's corner barbershop coming wit us, we've got of course, peter's cornacopia, so those are some well established names to go along with the fitness mill.

It's just an honor to be in a building with everybody."

The completion date is expected to be somtime early next year.
