Not gaming or on social media... nat he's teaching kids of color, how to write computer code.

I believe wholeheartedly that computer science is one of the ways that our community will be able to build generational wealth as well as get equality in this country.

Through his organization, "dream, hustle code," he starte online coaching when the pandemic hit in the spring ...offering the hows of programming&whil e serving up music... ...fun... & even personal development.

He's like a fun mentor one of his 300 summer students is riley hattin in california why do you see him as a mentor?

Because he's inspiring.

Ians parents run his nonprofit full time.

When you see him giving personal development advice-- --- // he is a 15-year-old, we still have issues with a clean it up his bedroom// so he still has those normal things but i'm inspired by it because that definitely was not a part of my life at his age.

When covid put a damper on his plans&an indiana senior turned his high school graduation party into a fundraising effort to help kids learn how to read& the results unlike any donation the organization has seen from a kid his age.

Only he didn't have a fairy tale ending.

"never thought i my wildest dreams i'd ever have to take my classes at home on an ipad in my pajamas" as for his graduation party&.

"that plan did no happen&" at least as he expected it to.

"if i can't be wit people why not have leave a legacy as my party to give back to the community."

He discovered the program dolly parton's imagination library&.

Turning his party into fundraising efforts for their children.

"every month the get a book until they turn 5 years old, so essentially they have 60 books in their library by the time they get to kindergarten" the hancock county community foundation adopted the program in 2015.

"we are in charg of raising the funds so that the program stays free to kids and children in our community" "and every kind o things boys or girls could want."

"the first boo that they get is actually the one that nolan read to you all" "i think i can i think can" in 2018&the foundation says 43 percent of hancock county kindergartners were below readiness standards.

"i really hope tha this instills in them that reading is important still" his efforts raised 25 hundred dollars.

A northeast mississippi teenager is working hard to earn top rankings in the world of crossfit competitions.

Wcbi's allie martin has more on 'team jack' jack hofmister is 17 years old, a few years ago got serious about physical fitness, came to this west tupelo gym and after lots of hard work he is one of the fittest teens in the country and he is getting ready for a major crossfit competition.

Nats for jack hofmister , his full time job, nats is working out.

"it's about six t seven hours a day , i break that up into two or three sessions a day."

The 17 year old started in crossfit competitions in 2018, and won first place at the beach brawl in pensacola that same year he has qualified for the pit fitness elite teen throwdown the first week in september in three rivers michigan.

His homeschool schedule allows him to spend the time required follow a strict training and nutrition plan.

Nats krissy beasley is co owner of crossfit r2f and jack's coach.

She says his hard work, dedication and determination have never wavered.

"as soon as h walked through those double doors, and hit the floor we just could initially see some potential in him and see this was where he need to be for sure."

Jack is raising money for his michigan trip by selling "team jack shirts.

The shirts have a bible verse that jack says is his true source of strength.

"my favorite verse second corinthians 12 10 on it, true strength comes from god, i couldn't do any of this without him , the ability he has given me and all the opportunities he's given me as well, to be able to train throughout the day, not to have to worry about certain things."

Jack will continue his hard work right up to the competition in michigan, then a few weeks later he is looking to get his third consecutive first place win at the pensacola beach brawl.

In tupelo, allie martin, wcbi news jack plans to attend college, join the rotc program, and the national guard.

He also plans to continue competing in crossfit events.
