The hamilton county health department briefed the county commission this morning on the impact of the covid 19 pandemic.
Administrator becky barnes told commissioners they expected to see more coronavirus cases when schools reopened.
She also addressed the number of cases involving the hispanic community.
Maybe 2 months ago we had sometimes as much as 80% of our news cases coming in were in the hispanic community..we did a lot in our hispanic community to address that..targeted testing and increased literature in spanish...spainish language pages..on our website..videos...lot s of response and clearly that's been a big turnaround in the spanish community..now our cases are down to 29%."
The health department is still putting out daily updates on the number of cases in the county.
