Families have until Friday to decide if their children will return to in person learning- or continue with virtual learning for the rest of the semester.

New information - madison county school families have until friday to decide if their children will return to in person learning- or continue with virtual learning for the rest of the semester.

Waay 31's sydney martin is live in madsion county after working to learn more about the plan.

The district said in an update released today on it's website that schools will reach out to families to decide which option they've decided.

September 14th is when students will start to return to the traditional classroom.

The district said students in grades pre-k through twelfth with the last name starting with a through k will head back to school on campus for monday and tuesday othat week and spend the rest of the week learning remotely.

Now students who's last name start with l through z will learn remotely for the first three days of the week and head back to on campus learning for september 17th and 18th.

The staggered return is only for the first week.

All students who choose in person learning will return monday, september 21st.

Again, families have until friday to determine if they want their student to continue learning only
