Returning to in-person classes amid the pandemic.

Government.

You're taking a live look at the city of madison, where parents are expecting an update today about the district's switch to in-person classes starting next week.

Waay31s sierra phillips is live at the district's central office.

Sierra, we understand some parents were surprised the district is returning to the classroom sooner than expected.

Exactly, parents thought it would be 9 weeks before their children would transition from virtual to traditional learning.

This morning, it's just a week away, starting next tuesday.

Some parents we talked to want their kids to return, but they're worried about what that return will look like.

Other parents, like machelle naulty who's son has asthma, are worried about their child getting sick.

Machelle naulty/ parent "we don't really know what the covid virus would do to him."

Parents say they want more answers before making their decision.

Take a look-- the district answered some of those questions on their website last night and the district told parents they will be sharing their full reentry plan today which addresses coronavirus protocols and procedures.
