Partygoers do the cha-cha while using plastic sheet to follow Covid-19 distancing rules

This is the hilarious moment party organisers created a plastic barrier so they can still dance with a partner while maintaining social distancing.

Dondon Cainto and friends were setting up the venue for a birthday party in Eastern Samar, the Philippines when they thought of creating the social distancing barrier on August 21.

Footage shows Dondon's friends dancing Cha-cha while two others hold the barrier on either side so that the dancers will keep their distance from each other.

Dondon said: "This is our new normal Cha-Cha dance during the pandemic.

Everyone can now enjoy and stay protected at the same time." People are allowed to gather in social events as long the group is kept small of up to 10 attendees only under the community quarantine rules in the country.

The Philippines currently has 224,000 confirmed Covid-19 cases and counting with more than 3,500 deaths.

It also implemented the longest-running lockdown in the world.
