While addressing at the joint press briefing on Rafale induction ceremony in Haryana's Ambala on September 10, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "I had a fruitful discussion with Madam minister (Florence Parly) today.
We have decided to continue work on identified defence industrial area and military to military cooperation." "I have invited the French defence manufacturers to invest in defence corridors in India," Defence Minister added.
The Indian Air Force celebrated its 88th anniversary with a grand parade and scintillating air display at the Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad. The event was attended by Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Army Chief MM Naravane and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh. IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria inspected the parade which was followed a majestic air display. The highlight of the air show this time around was the newly inducted Rafale jets which took part in the air display. The Rafale flew in the 'Vijay' formation, flanked by two Jaguars and Mirage 2000 each. It also carried out a minimum radius turn within an area smaller than a hockey field forming a figure of eight. The Air Force Day is celebrated to mark the day the IAF was established in 1932. Wishes poured in for the IAF from across the political spectrum with President Kovind and PM Modi leading the way. India is celebrating 88th anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF) on October 08. Grand celebrations began at Hindon airbase in UP's Ghaziabad. Two Chinook helicopters took part in flypast to mark 88th Indian Air Force Day at Hindon airbase. Rafale fighter jet carried out a minimum radius turn within an area smaller than a hockey field forming a figure of eight, on the 88th IAF day, at Hindon airbase. Flares fired by the Eklavya formation including Apache and Mi-35 attack helicopters at the Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad. IAF was established on October 8, 1932, under colonial rule. It was given the prefix 'Royal' by King George VI for its contribution during the Second World War. The prefix was later dropped in 1950 when India became a republic.
A farmer died during the BJP’S tractor rally in support of the new farm laws in Ambala. The 72-year-old farmer was participating in the rally being led by rally was led by Union Minister of State Ratanlal Kataria and BJP's Kurukshetra MP Naib Saini. DSP Anil Kumar said that Bharat Singh's son blamed intentional pushing and shoving during the tractor rally to be the cause of the farmer's death. A case has been registered under sections 302, 341, 148, 149, and 120 B of the Indian Penal Code. The BJP has alleged that some protesters linked to the Congress party had climbed the tractor, were hitting people with sticks and also pelting stones at the tractors. The BJP’s rally comes weeks after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a tractor rally against the farm related laws passed by the Modi government calling them anti-farmers. A 72-year-old farmer died in Haryana's Ambala on October 14. He lost his life during a BJP tractor rally in support of Farm Bills. Speaking to media, DSP of Naraingarh, Anil Kumar said, "Case has been registered against several people after his son alleged that few anti-farm laws protesters were involved in his father's death."
In Ambala, vegetable traders at grain mandi stop work as mark of protest in support of farmer over three agriculture reform bills. "Don't know why government is damaging a good system running between vegetable traders and farmers. Farmers were getting fair price. Middlemen had their jobs and others were also employed in the system in the mandi. Government is saying they are making farmers independent but they are already independent," said a vegetable trader. The bills passed in Lok Sabha on September 17. Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar to move Farmers' and Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 and Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020, in Rajya Sabha today.
Police on Tuesday arrested two men for allegedly killing a 21-year-old woman outside her college in Haryana's Ballabhgarh, a murder which triggered protests with students and local residents blocking the road to Sohna. The two men were produced before a court in Faridabad district and sent to two-day police remand. A special investigation team has been formed to ensure a quick probe into the case, Haryana's Home Minister Anil Vij said. The accused, who arrived at the spot in a car, had tried to pull the woman inside, in a bid to abduct her, but she resisted after which the key accused shot her, police had said. She was taken to a hospital, but she succumbed to injuries, the ACP had said. During the investigation, it emerged that the main accused was the woman's classmate earlier, police said. Haryana Minister Vij said the accused has connections in Congress due to which the pressure mounted on the victim's family to withdraw their complaint earlier in 2018. Faridabad Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Krishan Pal Gurjar met the family members of the woman, who was shot dead by a man in Haryana's Ballabhgarh. Gurjar assured speedy justice to the family. He further said, "Family's demand of forming SIT and fast track court has been accepted. We will try our best to give them justice."
On October 26, a 21-year-old college girl was shot dead in broad daylight in Ballabhgarh. According to police, the incident happened when the woman went to write her college exam. Two accused have been arrested in the incident and are in the police custody. According to victim's father, "There was pressure on her to change her religion and marry." Earlier today, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar assured strict action against the culprits.
National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on September 10 and Minister of the armed forces of Florence Parly met at Hyderabad House in the national capital. Minister Florence Parly was the chief guest for Rafale induction ceremony held earlier today at Air Force Station, Ambala. The first five Rafale aircraft will be part of 17 Squadron, the "Golden Arrows".The aircraft had arrived at Air Force Station, Ambala from France on July 27, 2020. Parly said it is a great pride to see the first five Rafale jets inducted in time in the Indian Air Force despite the COVID-19 crisis.
Dassault CEO Eric Trappier said he would be happy to repeat orders for Rafale aircraft if Indian Air Force wants. Trappier was speaking during the induction ceremony of Rafale jets.
