Several coronavirus cases were the reason

All nettleton high school students are taking virtual classes right now because nine students tested positive for coronavirus within the past eight days.

Wtva's wayne hereford joins us live from the school where he talked to the superintendent about what's going on at the high school.

Here at nettleton schools....superintendent dickerson told me the school had an outbreak of eight cases at the school last week and another on sunday.

He says the school quarantined a third of the three hundred-plus students.

So he and board members shut it down for a week.

"we still have a campus full of folks .

We just don't in the high school building."

That's nettleton school superintendent tim dickerson.

He says that last week eight students tested positive for the coronavirus and adminstrators quarantined a third of the students.

Then sunday, another student tested positive.

He says it was time to take action.

"so we decided it might be good for us to just shut down for about five days .

When i say shut down, we shut the building down.

We'll do virtual learning.

To see if it helps slow that down."

Standup.."superintendent dickerson says that once the school day is over and the teachers go home, they will spray down the entire high school and wipe down each and every classroom."

The superintendent says that the school is doing the best it can right now.

"yes its tough, but we're working through it and getting better every day."

Superintendent dickerson says that the students will be back inside the high school building monday.

He says the high school teachers and cleaning crew are on campus right now.
