Good evening jason.

The school district sent a letter out on friday notifying parents and student athletes that sports will be postponed indefinitely.

The superintendent says the decision is in the best interest of all the students and the community.

Some parents that spoke during the zoom meeting tonight say they were blindsided by the decision.

The superintendent started the meeting by reiterating the reasons for postponing sports.

-protecting the whole community and minimizing the risk of spreading the virus.

Some parents are upset over the decision& especially parents of students in their senior year.

District officials say they do understand the frustrations parents and athletes are feeling.

But -- this is what they feel is best... parents say they are upset because they weren't involved in the decision.

And -- they are worried about their children's future.

"its just sad, this decision is just astonishing they made the decision like this without consulting the community.

This is their chance to excel, this is their chance to prove themselves to a college, where do they want to play."

.

None .

None "this is more than just not having soccer, we on this call all have children that are going to be affected now and for their future."

> the board did re- vote at the end of tonight's meeting... but the outcome was the same.
