For Marcus Fullbright, football is all he's ever known

Santiam Christian senior credits his family for the passion, push and drive to be great.

Are a fall tradition.

For some players, it's even a family tradition.

And for sant-e-am christian's marcus fullbright, football is all he's ever known.

(marcus) - "it's really been apart of me since i was like a kid."

Growing up fullbright was always on the sidelines as his father chris, coached his older brother christian.

(marcus) - "i gotta lot of expectations from my brother, always playing and stuff.

So i had a lot to look up to and now it's actually my turn to get out there."

(chris) - "he was always on the field.

He was that ball boy, get the t, go do this, always wanted to hang out with the big boys.

I had him racing the lineman when you know three years old.

From his pop warner days to helping the eagles with the 2019 3a state championship - the idea of becoming a better player is what keep's fullbright going.

"just getting better, you know, you can always get better.

And football is more than a sport.

It's taught me a lot in my life.

Marcus says that football is in his blood.

It's his family that reminds him to keep geting better.

But his success on the field is no surprise to his parents - especially after one super bowl sunday.

(chris) - "he was in sixth, seventh grade.

He wasn't there.

Like where are you?

I looked out in the field.

And he had ladders out, he had a weighted vest on.

He was doing his footwork and stuff.

He was doing pushups.

That's just him."

With his senior football season postponed until the spring, fullbright is still focused on one goal: playing at the collegiate level.

(marcus) - "it's a lot harder with the pandemic and things like that so even though things are getting slower you gotta keep working.

You gotta keep that mindset.

You know god's plan, it's all gonna work out.
