Watch: Anti-Pak protest in UK; Pakistanis try to fight, intimidate PoK activists

Activists from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir staged a protest against the Islamic Republic in the United Kingdom.

The demonstration was conducted outside Pakistan's consulate in Bradford.

Pakistani nationals reportedly tried to sabotage the protest by intimidating the activists.

Even UK police were seen intervening in the incident.

Mahmood Kashmiri, one of the protestors, said that Pakistani diplomats were behind the attempt to break up the demonstration.

He added that the Pakistanis needed to learn that they can't intimidate protestors in the UK, like they do in their home country.

The demonstration was conducted in solidarity with Tanveer Ahmed, a PoK activist and journalist.

He reportedly held a hunger strike a few weeks ago against Pakistani flags being hoisted at public places in PoK.

He was reportedly arrested after taking down the flag himself.

Protests erupt as police thrash peaceful demonstrators in PoK [Video]

Protests erupt as police thrash peaceful demonstrators in PoK

These horrifying scenes of police baton charging peaceful demonstrators in Rawalakot area of Pakistan occupied Kashmir are not unprecedented but an exact reflection of what anyone who dissents or demands in the illegally occupied PoK goes through. The people in this so-called Azad Kashmir which means free Kashmir have been living under suppressive clutches of Pakistan for more than seven decades. A brutal police repression and other forms of human rights violations is a common and a recurring phenomenon for them. They were thrashed indiscriminately because they had dared to hold anti-government demonstrations after being denied fundamental rights. Pakistan occupied Kashmir is among those places where the term human rights finds no regards in the administrative dictionary. The deep state of Pakistan army, which virtually controls the region resorts to excessive force to muzzle all forms of demands and demonstrations. The law enforcement agencies are accused of carrying out severe human rights violations with impunity. While the political class is said to be complicit in the crime, the judiciary too has been compromised lately, leaving people of the region with absolutely zero sense of optimism in the system.

‘Joe Biden should intervene & resolve Gilgit-Baltistan conflict’: PoK activist

Asserting that Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) has been suffering for the past 73 years under Pakistan colonialism, human rights activist Amjad Ayub Mirza on Wednesday urged the US President-elect Joe Biden to "heal" the "wounded people and divide people" of PoK and Gilgit Baltistan (GB). "Mr President-elect, we have been suffering for the past 73 years under the Pakistan colonialism. And now since, China's Belt and Road initiative has encroached into our land of Gilgit Baltistan we face double colonization of Pakistan and China. And the uncanny military and economic relation between Pakistan and China make this issue more pressing," said Mirza, who is from Mirpur in PoK and is living in exile in the UK. While talking about his problems as a representative of Gilgit Baltistan, he said that given the US President-elect position, Biden is best suited to intervene in their matter and help resolve the issues.

PoK has suffered under Pakistan rule for 73 years: activist urges Biden's intervention

Asserting that Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) has been suffering for the past 73 years under Pakistan colonialism, human rights activist Amjad Ayub Mirza has urged the US President-elect Joe Biden to "heal" the "wounded people and divide people" of PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). While talking about his problems as a representative of Gilgit-Baltistan, he said that given the US President-elect position, Biden is best suited to intervene in their matter and help resolve the issues. This video message came a day after Mirza wrote to Biden on Monday urging him to "forcefully ask" Islamabad to withdraw its troops and non-state actors from the region. In a letter to Biden, Mirza had said that Pakistan has turned the PoK into a training ground dotted with camps where young people and aliens (foreign nationals) are trained to become terrorists, who are then frequently infiltrated across the border into Indian union territory of Kashmir to cause havoc. Mirza has requested Biden to grant him an audience at the White House so that he can present the case of illegal occupation by Pakistan in person.
