A 23-year-old man "with several prior robbery records" and a positive breathalyzer test starred in a violent car accident in the Caballito neighborhood of Buenos Aires, which killed the other 41-year-old driver, according to police sources.

The survivor, who suffered multiple injuries and had to be transferred to Durand Hospital, was charged with "manslaughter" since he crossed with a red light and speeding, as can be seen in the traffic cameras, while sources confirmed that he tested positive for an alcohol test and that he had a criminal record.

It all happened at 0:30 on Monday, when personnel from the 5 B Neighborhood Police Station have frequently displaced to the intersection of La Plata and Independencia avenues due to the collision with injuries between an Audi A4 and a Chevrolet Prisma.

The impact between both vehicles was such that both ended up on Juan Bautista Alberdi avenue, which is the continuation of Independencia heading west.

Personnel from the Special Rescue Group (GER) of the City Fire Department and an ambulance from SAME also traveled to the site, whose professional confirmed the death of the Prisma driver at the site.

The driver of the Audi had a record for robbery and another for resistance to authority, while the car he was driving had the papers in order with a blue card in his name, sources said.
