A police constable, his mother and sister were allegedly thrashed to death in Uttar Pradesh. Police said the victims were allegedly killed by relatives who were also their neighbour. The incident took place on Friday in Chamraudi under Kotwali PS limits in Banda district. Police added that three people have been arrested in connection with the case. SP Banda, Siddharth Shankar Meena said, "Three people have died following a fight among cousin brothers. We have arrested three accused in connection with the incident. An argument took place among the brothers over throwing leftover food." The victims were identified as Abhijeet Varma (25), Rameshwari (52) and Nisha (19). Abhijeet was posted in Naini Prayagraj and had come home on Friday afternoon.

CBI arrested Uttar Pradesh's Irrigation Department's Junior Engineer Ram Bhawan from Banda on November 17. Bhawan was accused of sexually abusing 50 children for a period of over 10 years. The minors aged between 5 to 16 years. The accused was allegedly also selling videos and photographs online using Dark Web. Irrigation and Construction Block Engineer, Vipin Bihari Singh said, "Today we have got a letter from the CBI, the case has been filed under the POCSO Act, the suspension on the basis of the same Action is being taken since 2009, he has been detained from Chitrakoot."

Uttar Pradesh Cabinet decided to introduce an ordinance against unlawful religious conversions, informed state minister for MSME, Sidharth Nath Singh on November 24 to ANI. He added, "The ordinance provides for jail term of 1-5 years with Rs 15,000 penalty for forceful religious conversion. For conversions of minors and women of SC/SC community, there will be jail term of 3-10 years with Rs 25,000 penalty."
